Wine description
Prima Nature is a range of organic wines without added sulphites that offers particularly pure, generous and indulgent aromas. Each cuvée, whose composition is reduced to the essentials, expresses the character and taste of the fruit and the terroir. This wine was born from the expertise of Gérard Bertrand and his oenologists, who possess a unique knowledge of winemaking without sulphites. The wines are grown according to organic standards, which requires grapes of the highest quality. Prima Nature is also a vegan range for consumers who care about animal welfare. Intense and fruity, Prima Nature will provide you with a unique experience of the grape variety while respecting the environment.

Winemaking and ageing
The work begins in the vineyard with a precise and meticulous selection of the plots best suited to producing this type of wine (90% of the final result stems from this precision work): plant health must be flawless, foliage healthy, fresh and dense, and the grapes at an optimal level of ripeness. Indeed, the harvesting window is very narrow as the acid/sugar balance is vital for this category of wine. Vinification is highly complex because we use neither sulphur nor oenological inputs. The grapes are immediately pressed and settled cold to encourage the natural stabilisation of oxidisable compounds in the musts through precipitation. Alcoholic fermentation is then rapid and carried out under a neutralised atmosphere. Fermentation temperatures are controlled at 18°C. The wine is clarified by racking before malolactic fermentation, then racked again and kept cold. Bottling takes place fairly early in the year to preserve aromatic expression. Ageing takes place in the bottle.

The ageing potential depends on the cuvée and vintage — it is specified in this wine's technical sheet. In general, our wines for ageing and fine wines can be kept for more than 10 years, or even over 100 years for our fortified sweet wines, whilst our lighter cuvées, intended to be enjoyed young, are best appreciated within 2 to 3 years of purchase.
The alcohol content (% vol.) varies by cuvée and vintage; it is listed in the product’s technical data sheet, below the description.
The majority of our red, white and rosé wines are dry. Our natural sweet wines (Rivesaltes, Maury...) and certain crémants are sweet or semi-dry. The style (dry/sweet) of this cuvée is specified in its description.

As a general rule: 8-10°C for rosés and light whites, 10-12°C for more complex whites, 16-18°C for reds. The most suitable serving temperature for this cuvée is also indicated on its technical sheet.
This depends on the wine and its age, as specified on the technical data sheet where relevant. As a general rule, our powerful age-worthy wines benefit from being decanted 30 minutes to 1 hour before tasting; lighter wines, whites and rosés can be served directly.

We do not produce dealcoholised wine. However, our range offers wines with lower alcohol content: So'Vive (naturally low-alcohol organic white wine), Le Chouchou (light red wine) and Cote des Roses Red Léger. The precise alcohol content of each cuvée is indicated on its product sheet.
